On Friday 27th September, Royal Papworth Charity are asking you to join in with 'Wear It Red,' celebrating World Heart Day 2019.

Did you know that Cardiovascular Disease is accountable for nearly half of all non-communicable disease deaths, making it the world’s number one killer?

This year Royal Papworth are dedicated to encourage everyone, from members of staff, to visitors, to local communities to participate in the World Heart Day 2019.

Royal Papworth Charity will be holding events including a fruit stall, CPR training for local schools and Gyms on Friday 27th September and we will encourage supporters, volunteers, staff members and ambassadors to #WearItRed2019.

Don’t have anything red to wear? Visit our shelves in WHSmith and pick up your own Royal Papworth pin badge! By wearing something red and donating £1 to Royal Papworth Hospital Charity, you are contributing to the Hospital’s goal of improving the care and treatment for heart and lung diseases globally as they construct the HLRI.

World Heart Day is asking for people to make the smallest of changes to their lives in order to reduce the risk of Cardiovascular disease, helping people live longer, better, heart-healthy lives. This years campaign focuses on making promises such as eating healthily, exercising more and stopping smoking, educating the public by highlighting the actions that we can take to prevent and control Cardiovascular Disease as a community. It is believed that by tackling and taking action of these easy lifestyle changes, at least 80% of premature deaths from heart disease and strokes could be reduced.
