This week Royal Papworth Charity were delighted to welcome HM The Queen, the Patron of Royal Papworth Hospital, HRH Duchess of Gloucester and Lord Lieutenant Julie Spencer, the official opening of the facilities on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The visit follows the hospital receiving the role title in 2017, becoming Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, after the hospital’s establishment over 100 years ago.

HM The Queen met staff, patients, members of the public and school children during her visit, exploring the state-of-the-art facilities, which the move offered.

The charity were delighted to be able to offer some of our incredible supporters and patients the opportunity of a front row seat. Eliza Bell, a DCD transplant patient, who has continued to test limits and raise incredible amounts of money for the Charity’s DCD programme, was also able to personally meet HM The Queen.

We would like to thank all of our amazing fundraisers for contributing, donating and supporting our endeavours to provide the best care for our patients.
