2,500 people a year in the UK are diagnosed with Mesothelioma and right now, there is no cure for this deadly disease.

Mesothelioma is a cancer caused by breathing in asbestos dust. Asbestos is banned in the UK but you can still find it in homes, schools and offices.

Royal Papworth Charity are proud to fund a Mesothelioma Support Group which offers a variety of social activities for patients, friends and families. Today, some of the members will join Kate Slaven, Mesothelioma Nurse Specialist, at Hemingford Abbots Village Hall to release doves and hold a cake sale in recognition of Mesothelioma Awareness Day.

If you, your friends or family are interested in joining a support group near you a list of groups available can be found here: http://www.mesothelioma.uk.com/information-support/support/supportgroups
