Jamie is taking on the challenge of cycling from Acton, West London to Antibes on the South Coast of France.

The ride will take him 15 days and will cover an incredible distance of over 890 miles. Jamie is taking part in the challenge to raise funds for Royal Papworth Charity and CALM in memory of his two friends Lucy-Anne and Chris.

Lucy-Anne was diagnosed with genetic liver disease and cystic fibrosis, in September 2017 she underwent a successful liver and double lung transplant at Royal Papworth. Sadly, Lucy passed away 6 months after the transplant. Jamie explains his motivation for fundraising for the Charity:

The care and dedication that Lucy-Anne received from the doctors and nurses in the critical care unit was beyond words, they did everything and more during Lucy-Anne’s stay.

During her childhood, Lucy spent many summer holidays in Antibes which is why Jamie is finishing his cycle ride here.

When talking about Lucy-Anne, Jamie tells us:

Lucy-Anne had a character like no other. Everything about her was dialled to 110%. She was confident, generous, loving and determined all at the same time. When the dust would settle on a chaotic or otherwise situation, it would be Lucy-Anne appearing through the smoke to bring a smile and a laugh to everyone.
