Meet the CCLI Research Team Royal Papworth Hospital supports a number of vital drug trials and research studies which look to help patients with Cystic Fibrosis. Meet the CCLI Research Team… Our Cambridge Centre for Lung Infection (CCLI) Research Team consists of 6 staff, 3 research nurses and 3 research coordinators who are all part of transformational trials which aim to help improve the lives of patients with CF. We take part in many different aspects of research and development; including drug trials, Tissue Bank research, adherence studies and maintaining the CF Trust registry. Within the CF community there is a lot of exciting pieces of research happening all around the world and it is very exciting to be part of research that can change the life of our CF patients. Marlene… Marlene worked on the Chest Medical Unit for 1 year before moving to the CCLI Research Team, she has now been a part of this team for 6 years and during that time she has progressed from Research Nurse to now the Research Sister, developing the research team into what it is today. Kathryn…. ‘I worked on the Cystic Fibrosis Unit since I qualified and during that time I have got to know our patients and families very well. I have worked on the CF Ward for over 7 years and I moved into the CCLI Research Team two years ago, to facilitate a multi-centre adult CF nebulised adherence research study. Jess… Jess joined our team 18 months ago as a Research Coordinator. She coordinates all CF clinical research trials. Deepa… Deepa previously worked on the Chest Medical Unit for the past 10 years and joined our team in March of this year as our Research Nurse. Deepa is part of the CF Trust’s Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform (CTAP). The Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform is a UK-wide initiative to bring together cystic fibrosis (CF) centres, to increase participation and improve access to CF clinical trials.
