Helen's running reward
Helen Forrest ran the Regency 10K run on a very sunny Sunday 10th April after her dad was a patient at Papworth.
Helen said “It was a beautiful, sunny day in Leamington Spa and I completed the course in 55.04 minutes. I must admit, it wasn't easy as I've been suffering with quite a heavy cold but my sponsors' generosity made me put my trainers on and get on with it".
A few of my sponsors are people who I don't have a lot of contact with (they donated via Facebook), but they have a personal link to Papworth too. It was really nice to learn how the hospital has touched other people's lives as well as mine.
'Fun'
Quite a few of my friends also ran the race, which made it even more fun, and we all went for a well-deserved fry-up afterwards!
"I've managed to raise £450 for Papworth Hospital which is beyond anything I had hoped for - my original target was £100, but I kept having to increase it as the donations came in!”
Our thanks and congratulations go to Helen for all her hard work!
