Becky's Burlesque Ball Triumph
Cystic Fibrosis patient Becky Conroy received a heart and lung transplant at Papworth at the beginning of 2010.
"The feeling I got when I took my first deep breath without coughing is just indescribable, and the staff at Papworth were amazing - I owe them my life." Following her treatment and recovery, Becky decided she wanted to do something to make a difference.
Becky organised a fundraising Burlesque Ball complete with dancers and a compare and they held a raffle with amazing prizes including a Jaguar car racing day with 2 signed Red Bull Caps from Mark Webber!
'Effort'
The evening was a resounding success and raised a whopping £6,400. The funds raised have been split between Papworth Hospital Charity where it will go to the Transplant Unit Fund and another charity, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
"It was truly worth the effort and I am glad that we raised so much money for two worthwhile charities". Thank you to Becky and her family for all their hard work and achieving such a great success with their event.
