Heart and Lung disease are the two biggest killers in the UK today and the impact on society is enormous.  In the UK one in three deaths is related to heart disease and respiratory disease now kills one in five.

Papworth Hospital has been pioneering new ways of treating, and curing, heart and lung disease for over 90 years and our work changes lives every day.

To ensure that we remain a world leader in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients we are building a new hospital and heart and lung research institute (in conjunction with the University of Cambridge) – which together will form an international centre of excellence here in the UK.
